In the past, when an actor was cast in a musical role, their voices were often dubbed by real singers. For example, think of Natalie Wood in West Side Story. The singing voice you hear is Marni Nixon, a talented soprano with a long history in musical theater. Still, there are some actors who might as well use their own voices. Some know they shouldn't be singing, but that hasn't stopped anyone yet. Whatever the case, it's always a surprise when actors known only for their acting break out into song on the big screen. And some surprises are more pleasant than others. Still, it's always fun to see people playing a role out of the ordinary. In fact, there are some actors who enjoy singing on screen so much that they decide to cut an album, often to mixed reviews and success. Braise yourself as these are my Top 20 Songs (good and bad) from Singing Actors.
